Are you ready for some baseball...sketch cards that is
OK so as I posted a few weeks ago, I got to do some sketch cards for Topps. The first product which is Topps Updates is out now and here are my sketches for that.
After awhile I got tired of drawing faces and wanted to try something different, so I did these.
I kind of like the colors and the look, and I added to it to make a set that would be my return cards. The bottom 8 are those.
I also did Stadium Club sketches which comes out in a few weeks, but I see scans online so I guess it is cool to show these as well. The Duke Snider was the first sketch card I ever did(hopefully I can find it on ebay some day). Just so you know I did most of the Stadium Club cards before I got the Update cards, so you can see why I was tired of drawing faces.
Then I drew some more.
Then I added color. These were the first sketches I ever did with markers.
Then I went all out on my return cards, even painting the bottom 4 here. Took way too long.

That Ted Williams looks awesome!
I don't know if you have seen sketches from non-sports, but they like to make panel cards, I pulled this out of a case:
Have you considered making panel cards? Maybe a bunch of teammates together or a pitcher and a batter...

DAYUM MAN! Those are AWESOME!!! If I get some and send them to you, would you sign them for me?
Any news on doing some for football? I would love an original for my Sports Room of Bengals and autographed stuff.

That is awesome. I thought about it, but couldn't find the right photos. I really like those. Maybe in the future.
Thanks

Congrats and can't wait to see if they pop up on the 'bay .

When that Yankee Stadium goes on or any of the Yanks, I am gonna try to snag one.
I hope you do football, because I would love a Bengal or 2 for my PC and hopefully a Raider for my Bro-in-law.
Do you do work for people? Can you PM me what price ranges you have if you do?

I am interested to see how they do. I put some high bins, which I am sure won't get hit. First time for everything I guess.

As much as I would LOVE the Yankee Staium one, NO WAY I will be able to afford it. It has to be awesome to see your work and name on eBay

It is fun. From what I have seen so far, it seems collectors are not sure what to make of them yet.
I wish I could have made all of my sketches full color, but time and money were definitely factors.
